Photo 2: Lab – Mrs Thio-Tang Choy Yong (SP Staff)
as 2nd year student in 1978 doing some
project work.

Photo 3: Lecturer’s House – Mrs Thio-Tang Choy Yong (SP Staff) as 3rd year student 1979 class gathering at our lecturer
Mr Teoh Chin Khoon’s house.

Photo 4: Lecture Theatre – Mrs Thio-Tang Choy Yong (SP Staff) as 2nd year student in 1978 at a lecture theatre after lessons.

In Photo 3, I am the one in a floral dress without glasses (standing 4th from the left). We enjoyed chatting with our lecturers and we organised gatherings to build rapport with them. This is one of the many gatherings we had organised.

In Photo 4, I am the one in white (1st in the front row). We enjoyed staying back in the campus after classes to play netball or handball, study in the library or chit-chat. One of the fond memories I have as a student is my classmates and I enjoyed hitch-hiking a ride home as that saved money and time. However, looking back it is not safe and I will not allow my son to do it.

Photo 9 : This was a group photo taken on the last day of our Head of Electronics and Communications Dept, Mr Tan Soo Young (in tie) before he migrated to the US in 1979. The staff strength was around 20. Except for Vicky Quek (3rd from the right) and myself (in red), the rest have retired or resigned. All the staff received some souvenirs from Mr Tan – a set of 5-7 combs made from cow bones.
